The Staffing Committee

 

This Committee’s purpose, in broad terms, is to ensure that conditions are in place to attract, motivate and retain the right number and quality of staff.  It works very closely with the Headteacher and Bursar.  Some particular issues which the Committee considered in 2004/5 are:

 

• Staff pay, including progression of senior teachers in the Upper Pay Spine and, more recently, implementation of national pay reform for teachers.
• Workforce reform, in which support staff have taken on various non-teaching activities historically carried out by teachers.
• Pay policy, where Christleton has adopted the model Cheshire County policy for schools.
  
  In addition, advice has been offered on aspects of staffing structure within the School and on specific staffing matters. Members of the Committee have sat on several selection panels and are involved in Leadership Group appraisal and objective setting.
