Staying Motivated
One of the greatest obstacles to exercise is the ability to stay motivated. The same principles apply to any exercise. Below there are the top 5 tips of how to stay motivated.
5 Tips to maintain your swimming motivation
1. Set small goals to achieve during each swimming session e.g. complete four lengths front crawl kick or swim at least one length butterfly.
2. Swim with a friend of a similar standard. This is because you can encourage each other to keep exercising.
3. Varying the activities can prevent boredom as there is nothing worse than having to repeat the same task over and over. You can use the session’s section and swimming drills to access the wide variety of different tasks you can perform.
4. Keep an activity diary. This helps you to see if your swimming sessions are helping you move towards reaching your long term exercise goal e.g. loose 2 stone in 12 months.
5. Enjoy swimming. Focus on the positive feelings from achieving your exercise goals.
