Committees

There are five main Committees which meet at least once per term, and report back to the full Governing Body:

Community Partnership

This is a newly formed Committee, and further details regardings its aims will be available in the Autumn.

Membership: Jean Charlton, Rev Malcolm Cowan, Nick Crowther, Hems de Winter, Richard Nibbs, Margaret Parker.

Curriculum and Achievement

The main aims of the Committee are "to ensure that the school meets the legal requirements (including daily acts of worship) in relation to the curriculum".

Membership: Simon Bell, Jean Charlton (Chair), Sharlean Heaver, Richard Nibbs, Paula Prescott, Craig Richardson.

Finance

The Finance Committee meets regularly throughout the year to consider and discuss the Income and Expenditure statements.

Membership: Penny Chapman, Ruth Chisholm, Nick Crowther, Paul Heath, Euan Imrie (Chair), Margaret Parker, Craig Richardson.

Pastoral

The main aim of this Committee is to ensure that effective systems are in place for the pastoral care of students and staff.  This includes being aware of Health & Safety issues, Special Educational Needs, and Student Voice.  In addition, the Pastoral Committee has responsibility for forming the Student Discipline Committee, which considers exclusions from school.

Staffing

This Committee's purpose, in broad terms, is to ensure that conditions are in place to attract, motivate and retain the right number and quality of staff.  It works very closely with the Headteacher and Bursar.
