Art with an 'Eco Twist'!

The local artist, Andy Longmuir, recently visited our Art Department to work with KS3 students in coming up with ideas for the sculpture to go in the vegetable garden.  The final sculpture will be created by Andy.

The students were shown examples of Andy's work, including 3-D sculptures.  His signature designs are made from recycled steel tubing.  Andy explained the thought process in creating a sculpture, and said that it could sometimes take up to as many as 40 ideas before deciding on the final design.

Students produced their own designs and created 3-D versions using paper straws to represent the steel tubing.
