We believe that our Sixth form students are amongst the most successful in Cheshire and we acknowledge the responsibility we have in helping them as they set out in the latest stage in their educational development.
Therefore, we firmly believe in giving our young adults access to all that they need to succeed in their future lives. This includes offering the widest variety of courses possible, employing the most committed, expert teaching staff possible and providing exceptional Sixth Form resources.
We passionately believe in the value of outstanding leadership and are committed to challenging our students to develop their own leadership skills to fulfil their own potential and be the very best they can be.
However, the young people who join us are expected to embrace a leadership culture and are challenged to show initiative and to participate fully in the life of the whole school at Christleton.
Typically, our students are dynamic, ambitious and determined to achieve excellence in their studies. And, as a consequence, we have a vibrant culture where ‘good is never good enough’ and our sixth form students are therefore strong positive role models for all in the school.
We are pleased to be able to offer:
- A Level results consistently amongst the very best in Cheshire
- The choice of 33 different subjects
- A lively, vibrant atmosphere of approximately 300 students
- Tremendous extra-curricular opportunities
- Continuous guidance and support, including specialist advice on university applications
With approximately 300 students on roll we are able to provide variety and breadth, in a friendly and supportive environment where students are given every encouragement to reach their full potential, both academically and socially. The majority of our sixth formers go on to Higher Education and then into highly successful careers in a wide range of occupations.
Around 20% of our sixth formers join us from other schools, adding to the richness of their education and that of our own students.
The way students dress in the Sixth Form is very important, and a basic standard of dress suitable for a professional, co-educational environment is expected for all students.
Sixth Form students are encouraged to set an example to the rest of the school. Students should simply consider whether their attire is suitable for a professional work environment when they are deciding what to wear.
Our Approach to Learning
Recent research undertaken by leading businesses concerning the ‘work readiness’ of school leavers has led us to redouble our efforts to ensure that all of our students leave our Sixth Form having acquired attributes vital to their success in both the world of work and at university. To this end, every student will be expected to spend all free lesson periods engaged in independent study on the premises.
