Year 11 Recruitment Process
As part of our Pathways to Employment initiative, we are running an exercise for all Year 11 students.
Each student in Year 11 will be encouraged to apply for a position, as advertised on the school website - there are six different jobs to choose from, ranging from Shop Assistant to Apprentice Engineering Technician. Students are required to complete a standard Application Form and a one page covering letter for the position(s) they are interested in. Completed documents will then be forwarded electronically to Careers Advisor Volunteers, who will assess the Application Form and covering letter to check they have met the required standard. Students, who have been successful, will be invited to attend an interview process, while those who have not will be given an opportunity to re-apply, and then hopefully be invited for interview. We intend to hold the interview process after the Spring break.
By giving our students this opportunity we feel that they will be able to experience a very realistic recruitment and selection process, which should be of great value to them in their future job searches and in their continued academic careers.
