Cycling to school

Cycling to school

(Posted on 24/11/17)

If your child cycles to school, could I please ask you to ensure that; the bike is roadworthy, that you encourage the wearing of helmets and that you speak to your child about road safety and the need to show respect and courtesy to other road users.

We have recently held a number of school assemblies addressing this issue and are working with the police and Bikeability schemes to ensure that our students are aware of their responsibilities when cycling to and from school.

In many ways it is heartening to see over 250 students cycle to school every day, but the roads are very busy andcycling on them can be dangerous, without the added risk or poor road discipline.

Thank you for your support.
